From book covers to fonts, from volumes of writings to the musical scores deeply rooted in Indian culture, from detailed scenario design to full-fledged magnum opuses. Kurosawa felt, “Not to have seen the cinema of Ray means existing in the world without seeing the sun or the moon.” As a pioneer, Ray not only ushered in an era of parallel cinema movement but also served as an inspiration for his contemporaries and successors.
